Hi Everyone,

Our February meeting will be online due to the current Covid situation but we are excited to share the specifics of this exciting event. This meeting will be virtual but we are hoping the next meeting will be another in-person event.

We are thrilled to announce that at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 15th, Dr. Monica Burns will be leading a session entitled “Tasks Before Apps: Designing Rigorous Learning in a Tech-Rich Classroom”. This session will provide powerful information to support teachers in meaningfully integrating technology and 21st century skills. She will share pedagogically sound methods that promote student success and pairs them with appropriate digital tools. This is a must attend session for technology leaders and classroom teachers.

Dr. Monica Burns is an EdTech and Curriculum Consultant, author of EdTech Essentials (ASCD, 2021) and former New York City public school teacher. She works with schools and organizations around the world to support PreK-20 educators with thoughtful technology integration. Monica’s website ClassTechTips.com and Easy EdTech Podcast helps educators place “tasks before apps” by promoting deeper learning with technology.

At 2:55 we will host a Roundtable Discussion in the following areas:

  • IT roundtable
  • Instructional Tech/Coaching roundtable
  • Librarian roundtable

Please fill out this form to let us know any suggested topics for discussion at your chosen roundtable session. Complete February Agenda

This opportunity will be open to all AATE members. AATE members are encouraged to forward this email to all teachers in their respective schools. Interested participants will need to register for this event so that we can send the secure login link and password to those attending.

Hope to see you soon,

Connie
