Hi Everyone,

We hope you will make plans to attend our February 4th meeting which takes place at the The Computer Museum of America which is located in Roswell. We will kick off the meeting with a  tour/scavenger hunt of the museum. It contains one of the worlds largest collections of artifacts from the digital revolution and it is something that you will not want to miss! This meeting is free of charge for members and the guest fee is $15.

Tracey Wiley from Georgia Public Broadcasting will share  a keynote entitled "The Educator's Guide to the GPB galaxy. GPB Education is Georgia's digital media content provider for the classroom, offering locally produced, Georgia-specific content as well as online streaming services across all subject areas.  Participants will learn more about how to meaningfully engage students with the thousands of digital resources of GPB, Discovery Education and PBS LearningMedia. This includes the interactive expansions of GPB's statewide virtual learning journeys, engaging new game-based approaches to numeracy, financial literacy, and Georgia history.

Participants will have a choice during the second half of the program to attend their top choice for each time slot. In the main meeting area, we will learn about Cyber-security Disaster Preparedness and Response, Tools for Students with Learning Differences, and Starting a TedX Program at Your School. Simultaneously, Bethanie Boswell, GPB’s Education Outreach Specialist-Virtual Learning Initiative will lead participants through GPB’s free Virtual Learning Journeys first-hand. Virtual worlds include text, images, audio, video, and a “feeling of presence” to allow for more multifaceted, cross-curricular learning experiences. In each of these sessions, participants will explore a Virtual Learning Journey using Oculus Go headsets.

Please review our meeting agenda to learn more about this exciting meeting! Registration Link
